Duty Handgun Essentials Course

Developed specifically for Glock platform handguns with red dot sights, Duty Handgun Essentials will provide you with two, intensive days of live fire firearms training to build on your existing fundamentals with your duty pistol AND earn a Stop the Bleed® certification.
The Gunfighter Essentials course series is our level 1 tactical firearms training course series and allows participants to learn red dot and Glock specific skills, improve their marksmanship capabilities to achieve the highest percentile on annual assessments, develop their reloads and malfunction clearance for use in tactical settings, and gain an introduction to tactical trauma care.

Duration: 14 hours (2 full days) - compare at $375+ for only 6 hours with other companies

Skill Level: Intermediate-Professional (safe firearms handling and professional competency with handgun shooting are the only pre-requisites for attendance)

Round Count: 600rds minimum

Training Points:

  • “Glock Grip” - fighting low & left

  • Red Dot sight pictures - find the dot every time

  • Target Focus - prevent focusing on the red dot

  • Trigger prep & recoil control - flash of the dot

  • Gunfighter stance & the “workspace”

  • Clearing common malfunctions under stress

  • Single & multi target engagements - OODA Loop processing

  • Tactical trauma care basics (Stop The Bleed)

Cursory Kit Requirements:

  • Current duty handgun with red dot sight (Dep. issued P320’s OK)

  • 3+ magazines

  • Gun belt with mag pouches and duty holster (NO SERPA)

  • 600 rounds minimum (800 recommended)

  • Eye/Hearing Protection

  • Individual First Aid Kit (IFAK), - mounted on your kit and/or fanny pack.
    -Contact us for RCMP approved IFAKs we supply to detachments.

  • Weather-appropriate range attire
